Your day begins with professional Hair & Makeup Artistry before moving into a relaxed studio session where there's time to settle in, change outfits, chat, laugh and simply enjoy the process. Nothing feels rushed, nothing feels forced.

Professional portraits don't have to mean sitting behind a laptop, holding a coffee cup or pretending to work for the camera.

The Edit takes a more personal approach.

Rather than relying on props or staged moments, I'll focus on the things that make your portraits feel like you: your expressions, your energy, your movement and the little details that bring your personality through.

You'll have direction throughout the session, so you're never left wondering what to do with your hands or how to stand. But there's also room to relax, let your guard down and allow those natural expressions to come through.

Some portraits might feel confident and considered. Others might be more relaxed, playful or unexpected. Together, we'll create a varied collection that feels modern, authentic and completely your own.

You don't need to know how to pose. You just need to arrive as yourself. I'll guide you through the rest.

Your Edit experience is designed to give you time to slow down, enjoy being looked after and create portraits that feel completely your own.

Hair & Makeup

Your experience begins with professional hair and makeup with Hannah. It's a chance to settle in, relax and enjoy a little time for yourself before we step in front of the camera.

Your Style

Bring the clothes you already love, along with a few different options to create variety in your gallery. We'll explore different outfits, textures and styles, helping you put together looks that feel comfortable and reflect your personality.

The Session

Once we're ready, I'll guide you through the session from start to finish. We'll work with different poses, expressions, movement and lighting, giving you direction while leaving room for those genuine, natural moments to happen.

You don't need to know what to do. You don't need to be experienced in front of the camera. I'll be there to guide you, encourage you and help you get the most from your session.

Your Images

After your session, your portraits will be carefully edited and retouched before being presented in your private online gallery. You'll be able to view your complete collection and choose the digital package that's right for you.

Choosing your EDIT Experience

The Edit is more than a portrait session. It's an invitation to step away from everyday life and spend a day in my Peterborough studio celebrating the woman you are today.

Your experience has been carefully designed to feel relaxed, luxurious and completely unhurried. There are no time pressures, no rushed outfit changes and no expectation to perform. Instead, you'll enjoy an experience that unfolds naturally, allowing your confidence to grow with every photograph.

Your Experience includes:

• A weekday studio experience (10am–1pm or 2pm–5pm)

• Approx one hour Professional Hair & Makeup Artistry

• A pre-session styling guide to help you prepare

• Followed by around two hours of editorial portrait photography using different lighting

• Multiple outfit changes

• Expert guidance and posing throughout

• Professional retouching of your chosen portraits

• A private online gallery where you can view your images and select your favourite collection from the comfort of your own home (turnaround is usually 2 weeks)

Professional Hair & Makeup Artistry is included with every Edit experience and is an essential part of the day. More than simply preparing for your photographs, it gives you time to slow down, relax and enjoy being looked after before stepping in front of the camera. It is, without doubt, one of the most loved parts of the experience.

Digital Collections

Once your gallery has been carefully edited, you'll receive access to a private online gallery where you can take your time choosing the portraits you love most.

Every image is individually hand-retouched and delivered as a high-resolution digital file with personal printing rights, giving you complete freedom to print and enjoy your portraits for years to come.

Every beautifully crafted portrait from your session is yours to keep, preserving the complete story of your Edit experience.

Booking & Payment

A 50% booking fee is required to secure your chosen Edit collection and your session date. This payment is non-refundable and will be deducted from the total cost of your selected collection.

The remaining balance is due 7 days before your scheduled session.

If you need to cancel or rearrange your session, at least 7 days’ notice is required. Cancellations made with less than 7 days’ notice may result in the outstanding balance becoming payable.

By paying your booking fee, you confirm your acceptance of these booking and payment terms.

  • Absolutely. You don't need any experience in front of the camera, and you certainly don't need to know how to pose.

    I'll guide you throughout your session, showing you how to position yourself, where to look and how to move. My job is to make you feel comfortable and help you get the most from your time in front of the camera.

    You don't have to arrive feeling confident. We'll work on that together.

  • Not unless that's the look you're after.

    The Edit moves away from the usual headshot clichés. You won't need to sit behind a laptop, hold a coffee cup or pretend to work to create a professional image.

    We'll focus on your expressions, personality, movement and personal style, creating portraits that feel modern, relaxed and authentic to you.

  • Bring clothes that you already love and feel good in. This could be your favourite jacket, a beautifully fitted knit, something more relaxed or an outfit you've been waiting for an excuse to wear.

    I'd recommend bringing a few options so we can create variety throughout your gallery. I'll provide guidance before your session to help you prepare.

    You don't need to buy a whole new wardrobe for The Edit. Some of the best portraits can come from pieces you already own.

  • Yes, throughout the session.

    You won't be left standing in front of the camera wondering what to do. I'll give you clear, gentle direction and help you with your positioning, movement and expressions.

    I'll also look for those natural moments in between the direction, because some of the most beautiful portraits happen when you relax and stop overthinking things.

  • Yes. If you decide you'd like more images after viewing your gallery, you can upgrade your collection.

    This means you don't have to make a final decision about how many portraits you want before you've seen the results of your session.

  • The Edit takes place in my private studio in the Peterborough and Cambridgeshire area.

I'm Beth, the photographer behind The Edit.

Over the years I've photographed hundreds of women, and one thing has always stayed the same. Almost every woman tells me she's nervous. She isn't photogenic. She doesn't know what to wear. She isn't sure she'll like a single photograph.

And almost every woman leaves saying exactly the opposite.

The Edit was created because I believe every woman deserves to have photographs that reflect not only how she looks, but who she is. Portraits with style, character and honesty. Images that feel timeless because they never tried to be anyone else.
