My day began quite early for Sophie & Karl's wedding as I traveled to Nottingham ready to capture their day at the Nottinghamshire Golf & Country Club
Sophie was getting ready with her bridesmaids and her mum at the Beeches hotel which was a short distance away, yet far enough for me to get lost! I'm terrible with directions, even with my Sat nav! a quick re- program of the location and I was on my way again and arrived at the right time. ( Sophie was unaware of any of this)
The hotel was gorgeous, and the bridal suite was a hive of activity and girly giggles as the bridal party were getting ready for the day ahead.
Sophie's hair was stunning, I loved how her hairdresser "Beth" yes another Beth! had created her up-do, very Boho yet sophisticated. She looked radiant as she stood in front of the full length mirror whilst her mum and bridesmaid laced up her dress.
Meanwhile, Karl was waiting at the venue with his two best men, he looked relaxed and pretty calm compared to a lot of other grooms this stage of the day!
Sophie & Karl had chosen a fresh yet vintage style for their decor, with a hint of formula 1 thrown in (Karl loves Motor racing) it sounds mad but it looked absolutely stunning. Hues of Lime green and peach , lace detailed messages, Pink and Peach Geberas and glassware were dotted around the room, along with personal photographs of the pair as children and a couple of pics of their beloved dogs who couldn't attend the day. Oh and they had a fabulous Sweetie table!
Sophie arrived with her dad at the Nottinghamshire in plenty of time but just as the weather decided to try and put a dampener on their day, I call it "showers of love" and it soon dried up and we had beautiful sunshine and a few scattered showers throughout the day.
Nothing prepares you for that moment when the bride enters the room ready to meet her groom, It gets me every time, a mixture of nerves & excitement and a sense of intimacy surrounds the room. it's that one moment every bride thinks of and for me it's the most memorable of all weddings.
Their first dance was to Ellie Goulding's "How long will I love you"
The Nottinghamshire is a venue I would wholeheartedly recommend. The decor is stunning, the staff were so helpful and friendly and the food looked amazing.
